National Register of Historic Places
Practice Nomination
The final project for Historic Preservation was to nominate a local historically significant building to the National Register for Historic Places. Coincidentally, the site I had chosen was actually nominated while I was working on the project and the Shelby County Courthouse has been on the Register since 2011.
The project involved visiting and photographing the site as well as visiting the Indiana State Library to research the building though county history books and newspaper archives.
